A child was trapped for two hours before being rescued following a horrific car accident in northern India's Bihar.

This incident happened near the Patna High Court on June 29th.

Reportedly the two vehicles hit each other at high speed after one struck a divider. Three passengers were injured and rescued immediately with the fourth, a 16-year-old boy, trapped in the back seat.

Footage from the scene shows police and emergency workers using power tools to free the boy from the backseat of the wrecked vehicle.

The rescue took two hours and the injured passengers were taken to hospital.

Visuals from the spot of the accident showed one of the cars left mangled after the horrific accident. A man was seen trying to break his way into the vehicle to save those who were trapped. A massive crowd had gathered at the spot with cops also monitoring the situation. According to a report, a car lost control and then ended up colliding with another vehicle. The car (BR 01AS 0009) was travelling at a high speed and it lost control before hitting a divider and then colliding with another car (BR01 CV 6055) on the other side of the road.

The impact of this collision was so severe that the boy, 16 years old, was badly trapped in the backseat of one of the cars. That same vehicle had a total of four people and the cops, with the help of the locals, helped pull out three of them with the child still trapped. The three were sent to the hospital. Named Utsav Anand, the boy was also provided oxygen support by the ambulance staff at the side in case he had any difficulty in breathing. Nearby car garages were also closed with the day being Eid ul-adha. Efforts to save the child by cutting through the car continued for a while with instruments like hammer and chisel being used.

The police eventually found a gas cutter and was able to take out the trapped boy much to the joy of the people present at the spot. He was sent to the hospital as well. The occupants of the other car also suffered minor injuries.
