Footage shows homes destroyed by Typhoon Kammuri in The Philippines today (03/12).

The video showing damaged properties and palm trees being blown over by the ferocious wind and rain was captured in Oriental Mindoro just after 4pm local time.

The deadly storm made landfall in the northeastern part of the country on Monday evening (02/12).

The Philippines weather bureau said that the typhoon continues to be "powerful" despite hitting land over Bicol region. Heavy rains are still expected in the Eastern parts of Luzon, the Philippines' largest island.

The typhoon has prompted the cancellation of airline flights and classes in several areas. The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) will be closed today (03/12) due to the typhoon. Around 480 flights were affected by the closure.

Several houses across Luzon has been damaged especially structures near coastal areas.

At least 160,000 people in the Bicol region has been displace due to Tisoy and many is still staying in evacuation centers said the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Latest forecast expects Tisoy to leave the Philippines by Thursday (05/12).

The SEA Games organisers have already canceled the windsurfing heats scheduled for today while the women's triathlon was a day early on Sunday to take advantage of the good weather.
