The north Indian state of Rajasthan was hit by a strong hailstorm which blanketed the streets on Thursday (December 12).

Footage filmed during the hailstorm shows a local holding a golf ball-sized hail stone.

In a peculiar moment, a desert area suddenly changed upside-down when a fierce storm showered down covering villages in north Indian state of Rajasthan.

The incident took place on December 12 in Nagaur city and in several parts of Rajasthan.

Visuals show the pouring down of the hailstorm and the aftermath of the shower, where the residents of the area are preoccupied with cleansing the roofs of their house.

Residents, in large number, came out of their house to witness such a sudden change in their village, which now looked like a milky field.

Motorists moved around the village to look at the widespread of the snow.

The villagers have informed that they observed the storms after decades, which was followed by incessant rainfall in the area.

According to the reports, the sudden change in temperature has largely affected the farmers and species in the area, especially birds.
