A heart-warming video has emerged of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indian paramilitary personnel, carrying a heavily pregnant woman on a makeshift stretcher for about 6-km to hospital in Chhattisgarh.
The incident happened on January 21 in the region of Padeda village, Bijapur district.
Visuals show a troop carrying the woman on the makeshift stretcher -- fashioned out of rope cot and bamboo poles -- upon their shoulders trudging through the jungles.
According to the reports, a school student spotted the woman writhing in pain and sought help from the CRPF personnel who were deployed in the same area.
The company commander of the squad immediately reached the woman's house and found that she was in advanced stages of pregnancy and needed urgent medical help.
As it was not possible for an ambulance to reach the village surrounded by dense forest, the team quickly assembled a makeshift stretcher by tying a rope cot to two long bamboo poles, the official said.
They carried her for 6km before reaching the nearest road and from there, an ambulance was arranged to take the woman to a nearby hospital.
