Two mating king cobras untangled after getting stuck in fence in Thailand
Two huge king cobras needed to be untangled after getting stuck in a farmer's fence.
The reptiles were caught in the netting which was protecting ducks in a pond in Phang Nga, southern Thailand on Wednesday (January 29) morning.
Farmer Boonsurb Nakthongkul, 60, was walking through the field when she saw the two cobra writhing around.
She called the local rescue organisation to help the serpents. They arrived with five staff because of the size and danger of the snakes.
Footage shows how the team slowly untangled the net to free an 8ft long male king cobra and a 7ft long female before putting them in a separate sack to be released back into the wild.
The rescuer said that this month is in the mating season for king cobras so they could be found more often.
He said: "This is the 10th and 11th king cobra I had to catch in the last two months.
"Now is their mating period so they will find a place near canals and ponds to reproduce.
"Morevover, this is the biggest female king cobra I have ever encounter so it shocked me when I saw the size of her.''
