Cape Town celebrates World Wetlands Day

Sunday the second of February marked world wetlands day. On Monday the Department of Water and Sanitation in the western Cape teamed up with Cape Nature to expose youths from a local school to the importance of wetlands and the conservation thereof.

Learners were shown the importance of the insects , birds and plants around the biodiversity area. Princess Vlei is situated at the fringe of the Southern Suburbs and has in recent years been rehabilitated.

The aim of the exercise is to promote conservation and awareness.
