Police in southern India's Tamil Nadu traced a 3-day-old boy within hours of his kidnapping by a burqa-clad woman from a hospital.

The incident took place on May 31 at the government hospital in Tiruppatur town of the eponymous district.

Visuals, captured on CCTV camera, showed the woman waiting at the hospital premises before going inside.

Later, another visual showed the burqa-clad woman coming out of the room while holding the baby on her hand.

According to reports, the police were informed about the missing child after the toddler's mother raised an alarm and informed the hospital staff.

The accused, identified as Reheena, allegedly introduced herself as the mother's classmate and picked up the baby on pretext of showing it to her sister, who was admitted in the same facility.

Police said the accused was traced by the help of CCTV cameras. The woman has been nabbed since.

Meanwhile, the boy has been reunited with his parents, Resein Sultana and Sheriff, residents of Krishnagiri districts, reports said.
