Indonesian woman shocked to find monitor lizard in her living room
A woman was shocked after finding a one-meter-long monitor lizard come in to her family's living room in Indonesia.
Yesi, 30, was having lunch with her family in the dining room of her home in Bukittinggi city, West Sumatra, on Monday (June 15).
Yesi suddenly saw a monitor lizard in living room. When viewed closely, she was shocked and shouted in surprise to the uninvited guest.
"He escaped outside through the open front door, then went to the house of the next door neighbor," Yesi said.
In footage filmed from inside the house by Yesi's neighbor Whydia Manissa, shows, lizards passing by the door then crawling to the side.
The monitor lizard was seen going to a place to dry clothes and trying to jump over the fence, but he was stuck there.
Rescue workers arrived and catching the tail of ferocious beast trapped in a toy car. Then after turning the monitor lizard's attention in his hand, rescue worker caught the monitor lizard's head.
According to Manissa, in addition to monitor lizards, their homes are also often entered by pythons and monkeys.
The animals are thought to have come from bushes alongside the housing which is their habitat.
The lizard was tied up then put in sacks before being driven away and released into the wild several miles away from where it is unlikely to disturb humans.
