A politician and his supporters took to the streets of Patna in Bihar, India on Thursday (June 18) and defaced a billboard advertising Chinese products.

Bihar's Jan Adhikar Party President Pappu Yadav climbed inside an excavator bucket along with his supporters to deface the billboard advertising Chinese smartphones.

Yadav and his supporters used black paint to write "Boycott China" and "No Chinese products."

Yadav also announced financial assistance for the families of soldiers from Bihar who were killed in the clashes with Chinese troops in the Galwan valley of Ladakh.

On June 17, the politician visited several shops in the city appealing to shopkeepers to not sell Chinese products.

The violent clashes on June 15 reportedly led to the death of 20 soldiers.

China has not officially released details of their casualties but some reports suggest up to 35 were injured in some capacity."

As the 'Boycott China' slogan gained steam in India, following the death of 20 Indian soldiers in a clash with Chinese troops at the border in the northern union territory of Ladakh on June 15, a politician along with his supporters took to the streets of Bihar and blackened advertisements and billboards of Chinese companies while riding a JCB machine.

The incident took place in Patna city of the eponymous district of the northern Indian state on June 18.

According to reports, Bihar's Jan Adhikar Party President Pappu Yadav reached the Kotwali Chowk and along with his supporters, defaced the billboards displaying Chinese products.

The video shows the politician and some of his aides riding the excavator machine in an attempt to blacken the Chinese mobile phone advertisement billboards.

Words such as "Boycott China" can be seen written on them.

Yadav also announced financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh each to the families of all the soldiers from Bihar who were killed in the clash with Chinese troops in the Galwan valley of Ladakh.

On June 17, the politician visited several shops in the city appealing to the shopkeepers not to sell Chinese products.

The violent clash on June 15 led to the death of 20 soldiers d in Ladakh's Galwan valley.

Yadav also appealed to the government that the time has now come that Chinese goods should be boycotted in India.
