A poor monitor lizard escaped the heat to the motorcycle repair shop but was locked up inside by the employees.

The reptile sparked panic among the employees after they saw it crawling inside the office in Krabi, southern Thailand.

They locked the reptile inside and fled then called the rescue team asking for help catching it.

Footage shows the rescuers battling with the 5ft long ferocious monitor lizard as it fought back.

The reptile was spotted trying to run away but the rescuer managed to pin it down by putting his feet on its tail and after that they caught it with the rod. The rescue team tied the reptile with the rope and brought it to release away from the locals.

The garage boss said the monitor lizard might have entered to escape the heat. He said: "The reptile had taken advantage when we opened the door and rushed inside.

"I think it might want to stay in a colder place because the temperature outside was burning or perhaps it wanted to buy a motorcycle."
