An incredible folk dancer in south India showed off his dancing and performance skills, including being able to pick up razor blades with his eyes while balancing a weighted pot on his head.

The dancer, named Kalaiarasan, runs the Gramiya Puthalvan academy for teaching ancient folk dances in Coimbatore.

For one performance filmed on November 1, Kalaiarasan set up razor blades on cups of sand on a table and then balanced a pot filled with water on his head before attempting to pick up the blades with his eyelashes.

The skilled performer commented: "During a pandemic our folk artisans are struggling hard for a living and I am offering my achievement to them."

Kalaiarasan is a folk dancer in Coimbatore. He runs Gramiya puthalvan academy for teaching ancient folk dances. In his new record he was holding the water pot on his head and took around 1000 blades using eyelashes. These blades were laid on a cup of sand on the table.

Having a heavy water pot on head if a second of miss in concentration can lead to piercing his eye as the blades were very sharp and this is a risky stunt too.

He also got his name in Noble book of record for his achievement.

He said " During a pandemic our folk artisans are struggling hard for a living and I am offering my achievement to them."

United Nations recently awarded him a Global compact award for his work on the traditional folk dance.
