There was a heavy police presence outside Milano's Pizzeria in Hemet after a man was shot dead by two assailants on November 2.

The man, 36, called 911 himself after being attacked and was pronounced dead at the scene by arriving crews.

According to local reports, the police have taken one suspect into custody and are still searching for another.

Hemet Fire Department responded to reports of a patient covered in blood and possibly shot in front of Milano's Pizzeria at 269 East Stetson Ave in Hemet, Riverside County, California. The man who called 911 himself was wounded after being attacked near the pizzeria. While waiting for police and fire a white Dodge Durango drove by the victim and gunned him down with a volley from an AK47. The Durango sped off leaving the scene with onlookers witnessing the scene and hearing shots of what appeared to be automatic fire. Arriving crews declared the victim deceased at the scene. Police later received a report of the white Durango abandoned in the 1300 block of South Palm. Witnesses there stated that one of the suspects jumped out of the durango and attempted to carjack a motorist at gunpoint. He was unsuccessful and fled the scene on foot. Police later responded to a residence in the 900 block of W Coral Ave where witnesses said to have seen someone in the backyard. According to radio traffic one suspect was taken into custody at this location. Police is still searching for at least one more outstanding suspect who was last seen open carrying a rifle walking down Palm Ave. Officers have setup a perimeter around the residential areas near 900 W Coral and are actively searching for the suspect. Hemet police department along with assisting agencies continued throughout the night to search for one of the suspects of the shooting at the Milano's Pizzeria during the afternoon of 11/02 that left a man dead. The first suspect was caught briefly after the shooting occurred hiding in the backyard of a residence. The second suspect described as a native American male with a long pony tail, blue shirt and jeans was last seen by residents walking up Palm Ave near Thornton Ave carrying a rifle on his shoulder. SWAT teams searched the surrounding area with bloodhounds for hours until at about midnight the suspect was arrested. The murder weapon was located on a brick wall bordering a residence and the street in the 1200 block of S Palm Ave. It appears that the weapon used wasn't an AK47, but an AR-15 pistol with a wood stock. Officers and investigators are still on scene at all locations involved in the incident. This is still an ongoing investigation and more information will become available soon.
