Female motorcycle rider smashes through toll road barrier
This is the shocking moment a female motorcycle rider smashed through a toll road barrier in Thailand.
The woman was flagged down by police for riding illegally on a motorway – motorcycles are banned – but allegedly tried to escape in Bangkok on January 20.
CCTV footage shows how she refused to slow down and ploughed straight through the metal barrier.
The barrier was split and hit her helmet but the rider sped away until she was stopped on the next toll booth. Dashcam footage from a shocked driver the captured her riding erratically.
However, she was eventually caught when expressway guards questioned her and she became aggressive. Police named her as Nann Supisara.
She was allegedly pushing and cursing at one of the guards who was issuing her a ticket violation while saying: ‘It’s 500 Baht, isn’t it?’
More guards arrived at the scene to calm Nann down but she continued to snap on the men.
One of the guards was seen trying to persuade her to remove the helmet so they could properly issue her the ticket.
She was eventually allowed to leave after paying for her violation of 1,000 Baht (33 USD) and continued riding towards the Bang Na district exit.
Mr. Surachet Laopoonsuk, Governor of the Expressway Authority of Thailand, said: ‘The rider was fined 1,000 baht for motorcycle violations on the expressway.
‘We later contacted her and she agreed to organise payment for the damage to the barrier, which we believe will cost 10,000 baht.’
