A farmer saw that a large and aggressive cobra had fallen into his irrigation pond at a village in western India on December 29.

After he called Animal Welfare Society, Akash Jadhav and his team went to the village near Ahmednagar. They saw a huge adult cobra staying afloat in the pond.

They retrieved the snake and released it in a nearby forest later.

Akash said: “It is rare to come across such a large cobra stranded in a well. Though it was aggressive and hissing we managed to rescue it without any incident.”
