Scores of protesters marched with torches through the city of Tilburg in the Netherlands on Friday (February 5) to voice their anger at ongoing measures aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19.

The marchers reached the city centre where they were forced to turn back by police.

According to local media, police detained one person after the end of the protest.

A protest held with torch fire flames against the COVID lockdown and curfew measures took place in Tilburg city in the Netherlands. The peaceful torchlight demonstration organized by about 100 activists who do not agree with the corona measures imposed by the government was a torchlit march towards the city center where police stopped them in Spoorlaan near the center and asked the protesters to return back. The Netherlands faced violent protests against the new measures in January 2021. A 95 euro fine is given to people who are out of their homes between 21:00 and 04:30 local time.
