While police officers tried to proceed with apprehensions, students came forward and police officers pushed them away with shields and hand-to-hand fighting. Tensions also erupted between police and protesters during the apprehension of a man who had previously fallen to the ground from the use of chemicals. Authorities repulsed a group of students outside the campus by firing stun grenades and using chemicals.

The situation prevailing at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is critical after the raid of Greek police in the university institution, which students have been occupying since Monday morning. Police intervention took place after the prosecutor was informed by the rector of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki about the mobilization of the students.
