Police order six schoolgirls to do squats because they were caught riding without helmets
Police ordered six Thai schoolgirls to do squats after they were caught riding a motorcycle without helmets.
The youngsters wore PE uniforms when they were stopped by a traffic police officer who saw them riding without proper safety gear in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, Thailand on March 2.
Aside from the lack of helmets, the reckless girls also overloaded two scooters – with three students occupying each of the motorbikes.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Witthayabut Prom from the Thung Yai Police Station then asked the girls to stand in a single file and explain why they failed to follow the traffic rules.
The youngsters then were asked to hold each other’s shoulders and do ten counts of squats together.
After the punishment, the strict officer explained to the girls the importance of wearing helmets and road safety.
The girls were then allowed to leave without paying fine so they could continue their journey to school.
Officer Witthayabut said: ‘These girls should know early on about being responsible when using the road.
‘We can teach them to be responsible for their own mistakes through these small punishments.’
