Terrified hotel guests rush outside building during magnitude 6.6 earthquake in the Philippines
Footage shows terrified hotel guests rushing outside a building during a magnitude 6.6 earthquake in the Philippines.
Tourist Essonne Pusing felt the strong tremors and went outside together with other guests while being guided by staff in Pasay City on July 24.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology director Renato Solidum Jr said the quake was related to the Manila trench and not the Taal volcano which was showing signs of activity recently.
He said: ‘This has nothing to do with the volcanic activity of the Taal Volcano. This often happens and sometimes, the earthquakes underneath Calatagan are felt in Metro Manila.’
No casualties was were as the tremor was only felt at Intensity 5 which was relatively strong but not destructive.
