Several people were rescued from the flood-affected areas in western India's Maharashtra on September 29. The incident took place in Poharegaon village in the Latur district.

Visuals feature the Indian Air Force (IAF) Mi-17 chopper reaching the flood-hit village during their relief efforts in broad daylight while the weather condition continues to escalate by the second. Meanwhile, the rescuers manage to airlift people stranded on the rooftop of a makeshift hut and bring them to safety.

As many as 459 people were rescued from flood-affected areas in the last several hours across Osmanabad district till September 28 while the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) deployed a helicopter to reach those stranded in floodwaters in far-flung villages. Moreover, water was released from the Manjara dam, causing flooding in downstream villages and parts of neighboring districts.
