Footage shows residents preparing for floods by piling sandbags outside their homes in Bangkok, Thailand.

Officials have also installed large water pumps and wooden walkways following heavy rain which caused severe floods in neighbouring central provinces killing at least seven people.

The homes along the capital’s Chao Phraya river in the capital could be hit with flooding later this month amid forecasts of more rainstorms in the country.

At least seven people have died and tens of thousands more are still stranded receiving aid from rescue groups after tropic storm Dianmu battered central Thailand at the end of September.

Ten provinces in Thailand, including Chaiyaphum, have been inundated with rain from Dianmu, according to the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department of Thailand.

The Thai Meteorological Department said more rain is expected this month.

Bangkok Governor Aswin Kwanmuang said the flood situation was under control but eleven communities within nine districts in Bangkok have been put on alert including Bang Sue, Dusit, Phra Nakhon, Samphanthawong, Bang Kho Laem, Yan Nawa, Khlong Toei, Bangkok Noi and Khlong San.
