A market in Thailand carried on with sales despite ankle-deep flood swamping the area.

Footage shows market-goers and vendors in the flooded market in Nakhon Pathom province, central Thailand conducting business as usual after continuous rainfall raised the water level on October 10. Elevated wooden planks were set up in portions of the market to help customers move around.

Shopper Nan Saksuphab said: ‘It amazed me how the market was open like normal with all the water inside.’

The Thai Meteorological Department has warned the public of a trio of storms, including the approaching Tropical Depression Lionrock , which will drench flood-battered Thailand.

Interior Minister Anupong Paojinda has advised provincial governors to brace for the threat of further flooding this week.

Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines are in the middle of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts until October or November. Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain and flash floods.
