Queues of double-decker buses were spotted on highways in Hong Kong as Typhoon Kompasu approaches.

Footage from October 12 shows dozens of buses lined up in Kowloon Bay as they attempted to park at their central bus depot.

As Hong Kong raised its alarm level At the approach of typhoon Kompasu to level 8, the Kowloon Motor Bus company extended its service hours to bring home the residents.

After hours, the sheer number of double decker buses seeking to park at their central bus depot of Kowloon Bay snarled up the (reduced) traffic for kilometres, from Kowloon Bay to Choi Hung, as can be seen in this video.

Despite elevated warning levels, the previous typhoon Lionrock which struck on Saturday left little damage in the city.
