This is the moment a landslide in Indonesia's West Sumatra triggered by aftershocks following an earthquake on Friday (February 25) uprooted coconut trees, carrying them away.

Closeup footage shows a river of mud rapidly descending in Pasaman district, covering an area previously buried by a landslide. A coconut tree is hit by this wave of wave and carried away.

The first landslide a few hours earlier had swept away a number of houses and severed bridges, locals say.

Two hours later, smaller aftershocks after the initial 6.1 magnitude quake occurred again following aftershocks that continued to rock the region.

This earthquake resulted in seven deaths, dozens of injured and more than 500 houses destroyed. Several hot springs have also begun to emerge from the ground.
