An Indonesian YouTuber has shown the dangerous lengths some people will go to for online videos when he filmed from underneath a railway track on Monday 21 March.

DedeInoen has been widely criticised for the stunt, in which he hid under the Fire Rubber Railroad.

He may also face legal consequences, with some suggesting he could face a fine equivalent to around 1,000 US dollars or even jail time for breaking Article 199 of Law No. 23 of 2007 concerning Railways.

"Because of course this can also be related to a legal case, if it is like this, there will be a three month sanction or a 15 million rupiah fine for those who are on the train line," said Kuswardoyo, a public relations manager for PT KAI (Kereta Api Indonesia, the country's public railways operator) to media on Monday 21 March.

Article 199 reads: Everyone who is in the useful area of the railroad, drags goods on or across the railroad track without rights, and uses the railroad for other purposes than for rail transportation which can interfere with the train journey as referred to in Article 199. 181 paragraph (1), shall be sentenced to a maximum imprisonment of 3 (three) months and or a maximum fine of Rp. 15,000,000.00 (fifteen million rupiah).

Kuswardoyo, who, like many Indonesians, goes by one name, also said he hopes that Dede will immediately apologise on his social media platforms.
