Team of 3 doctors operated for 5 hours; Made the cow stand on her feet by adding a broken bone in Northern India
3 doctors of Bihar Veterinary College together have created a new record of surgery. The broken cow's leg bone was fixed in a 5-hour operation and made it go away. The cow stood on the leg with the load only after the surgery and started walking like normal animals. In such cases, animals have to be cut up to their feet. In this surgery, circular external fixator has been used for the first time in Bihar.
The bone of the front right leg of the cow was broken and came out. It was a fairly complex compound fracture. In such a case the animal tries to stand again and again. Due to which the broken bone gets worse. The cow's bone had become very damaged and there was a risk of infection. There was a child in the stomach of the cow and a great experiment was done to save its life.
Doctor Rajesh told that in this fracture both the upper joint and lower joint have to be immobilized. In this surgery, the bone is first reduced and brought into its shape, then it is fixed with an external fixator. This tunnel fixed has 8 pins, in which 4 pins are attached to the upper joint and 4 pins are attached to the bone in the lower joint. So that it does not allow the fracture of the bone to move and the animal can immediately stand and walk with full load. Just for a few days now the animal's wound will be dressed, but it will not be known that the cow's leg was fractured
The doctor said thats the cattle farmer living in Ara had suffered an injury, due to which the fat bone of his leg had come out. In such cases, surgery could not be done in Bihar. Due to infection in the broken bone, the animals could not stand again and their legs had to be amputated. The vet was very upset.
Having a child in the stomach made the cow's problem worse. The cow was somehow brought to Patna Medical College and the surgery made the cow stand up again.
