Sky above Chinese city turns blood-red due to 'light refraction caused by boats'
The sky above a city in southern China was turned blood-red seemingly due to light refracting from fishing boats.
The video was filmed in the city of Fuzhou in Fujian Province on May 11.
A woman was heard saying: "The sky turns red."
While a man said: "Why the sky is red? So scary. The end of the world. Run, run!"
The local meteorological bureau staff claim that the unusual phenomenon is caused by light refracting from fishing boats.
On May 7, Zhoushan city in eastern China's Zhejiang Province experienced the same red-tinged skies.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
