A daring female cop saved the life of a woman who slipped and was about to fall in the gap between the platform and the footboard of a moving train while boarding it in eastern India's West Bengal.

The incident took place at the Howrah Railway Station on May 16.

Visuals, captured on a CCTV camera, showed people running on the platform beside a train that started to move. A man and two women were seen rushing towards the door of a compartment.

The women tried to get inside the train but instead slipped and fell on the platform. A female cop was seen rushing toward the victim and pulling her away from the train.

According to reports, the cop saved a woman's life who slipped while boarding train number 38417 (Howrah - Panskura Local) from Platform number 14.

The policewoman has been identified as Lady Constable Akanksha of the Railway Protection Force (RPF).

During her patrol, she noticed that an unknown passenger was running to board the reserved female compartment of a moving train. The passengers did not heed to the cop's advice and eventually slipped and fell. Fortunately, the alert cop was able to pull the passenger to safety.

The woman, on her part, thanked the RPF for saving her life.
