An alert policeman saved the life of a woman passenger, who slipped and almost ended up under a moving train while trying to deboard it in western India's Maharashtra.

The incident took place at the Andheri Railway Station, serving the namesake suburb in Mumbai, the capital city, on September 23.

Visuals showed the woman alighting from the moving train when she loses her balance and almost slips through the gap between the platform and the locomotive.

Fortunately, the cop, identified as RPF head constable Munishankar Mishra, rushed to her and pulled the distressed passenger to safety.

The passenger, identified as Joshna Bharne, fell off the Churchgate fast local train. While RPF personnel urged her to visit the hospital, she refused to go, but thanked the former for saving her life.
