An alert policeman saved the life of a female passenger, who slipped while trying to board a moving train in western India's Maharashtra.

The incident took place at the Jalgaon railway station in the eponymous district on April 29.

Visuals, captured on a CCTV camera, showed the female passenger getting dragged as she struggled to get up. Seeing her in distress, a brave policeman ran towards her and pulled her away to safety.

According to reports, RPSF (Railway Protection Special Force) Constable Rohtas Kumar was quick to spot the distressed passenger and risked his own life to save the latter.

The policeman was patrolling platform number two at the time of the incident.
