Female elephant gets electrocuted while crossing electric fence in Sri Lanka
A female elephant was seen lying on the ground after getting electrocuted in a forest in Sri Lanka.
The incident took place in Hiriwadunna situated in the north central part of the country on May 23.
Visuals showed an elephant lying on the ground looking very weak. It was constantly writhing and there were a lot of people around who were looking at the suffering elephant.
The locals were seen throwing food near the big mammal to help it gain back the energy. The people standing near the mammal were easing it by rubbing their palms on its head.
The pachyderm is receiving treatment from the wildlife department.
