Visuals have emerged of a cow sinking in deep mud near the shore of a pond in central India's Madhya Pradesh.

The incident took place in Sagra Talab of Pali town in the Umaria district on May 29.

The cow got stuck in the mud at the shore of a pond. There were a group of people surrounding it, trying to get it out of the mud.

They held the animal's legs and the lower part of the body and were trying to bring it up so that it could get out. They used sticks as well. After hours of struggle and hard work, the cow was successfully rescued.

One of the rescuers held the cow from its horns and made it stand up on its legs. Others were also doing the same by pulling the legs.

According to reports, the cow was pregnant and it went to the pond to drink water where it got entangled in the deep mud.

After a lot of struggle for hours, when the cow could not get out, it started panicking. It was later rescued by the general public.

Municipality president Usha Kol helped a lot in the rescue mission.
