A gang of robbers in Indonesia dismantles an ATM machine by pulling it with a car. But they left it because they could not lift the ATM machine and were seen by the residents.

Security camera footage from a coffee shop shows the robbery of a Bank Aceh Syariah ATM in Gampong Lampaseh, Banda Aceh City, in the early hours of May 14.

Six men pulled out an ATM machine by forcibly using a car like a scene in the movie Fast Five.

The heavy ATM machines and their actions that were seen by the residents forced them to leave the location without success.

In just a few hours, 4 of the 6 robbers were caught after the police gathered evidence, witness statements and CCTV footage at the scene.

The head of the Banda Aceh City Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Commissioner Ryan Citra Yudha, said three of the robbers were parking attendants, two of them were kids and one other man worked as a driver.

“They were caught by residents when they were trying to get an ATM machine into their car. The robbers fled so that the ATM machine and the money in it were still intact,” Commissioner Yudha added.

As of Saturday, June 4, or three weeks after the incident, the two robbers who escaped were still wanted by the police.
