Flash floods swept vehicles down roads as a rainstorm hit a city in northern China.

Video filmed in the city of Lyuliang in Shanxi Province on August 11 shows rapid floodwater washing vehicles away on a road.

According to a supermarket owner Mr Qiao, the water submerged his store and washed away the goods.

The public relations department in Zhongyang County in Shanxi said it was the heaviest rainstorm in the county in this year.

Six workers were washed away, while only one of them was rescued and the five other people were still missing.

11日下午，金罗镇一家超市的老板乔先生介绍，11日早上7时30分许，下起了特别大的雨。大约8时30分，他的超市开始进水，很快积水超过一米，不少货物被冲走，他停放在外面的两辆车均被洪水冲走。乔先生介绍，下午暴雨已停，街道上的洪水也已经退却，但路上都是淤泥，他超市内还有积水正在使用水泵抽排。
金罗镇另一位居民介绍，他在镇上居住了三十多年了，还从来没有见过这么大的洪水。不少一楼商铺和居民家进水，有车辆被冲走，还有车辆堆撞在一起，目前镇上的居民都在参与排涝清淤和救灾。

山西中阳县宣传部门称，从10日22时至11日11时，中阳县遭遇了今年以来最大的一次特大暴雨，暴雨引发山洪导致宁乡镇、金罗镇受灾严重，其中金罗镇一高速在建工地，6名工人被山洪冲走，已搜救出一人，生命体征平稳，仍有5人处于失联状态。目前搜救工作仍在继续。（视频由山西台提供）
