This is the amusing moment a curious python slithered into a local's home before leaving right away in Thailand.

The serpent entered resident Kai Songwut's house in Ratchaburi province for a quick visit on October 3.

It went in through the open door and took a peek at the homely surroundings before returning into the wilderness.

Kai said: 'I had just entered the house minutes before the snake showed up. Luckily, it did not hurt me.'

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
