Massive moose charges toward homeowner and his 2 dogs outside front door
A man was left in shock after he barely avoided a charging moose which ran at him as he stepped out of his front door.
Dustin Padrta had just let his dogs Bullet and Daisy outside at home in the Kenai Peninsula, Alaska, when he followed the pooches down the steps.
Dramatic footage filmed in March but only just uploaded to social media by Dustin’s wife Carly shows her husband turn to his left after hearing a growl before sharply heading for his house.
Mere seconds after Dustin made it up the stairs, a huge moose came barrelling down the driveway on a collision course with where he was standing.
Carly said: “Dustin didn’t realise there was a moose outside at the time and the first he noticed was when he heard the growl.
“His first thought was a bear until he looked over and saw the moose charging. It got within a few feet of him.
“He was in shock and came back inside immediately after it happened. He checked out the dogs to ensure they were also ok and then we checked the Ring camera.
“I was doing dishes at the time and saw most of it happen from the kitchen window.
“We get moose very frequently, especially in the late winter when they’re getting desperate for food.
“This was the second moose charge we had that winter for us as I had been charged by a small bull a few weeks prior.
“The police had warned people to be extra cautious around moose because of them being overly temperamental after they became hungry and overly tired from a very taxing winter.”
