Locals were panicked as an elephant herd wandered onto a tea estate in Murphulani, Assam, on November 9.

Footage captured by Bharat Das shows workers screaming and shouting as the elephants made their way into the compound.

The locals attempted to scare the herd off by making loud noises.

Three was panic among the locals after a large herd of elephants were seen straying near a tea estate in northeastern India's Assam.

The incident took place near Murphulani Tea Estate, Market, Marangi, Golaghat city on November 9.

Visuals showed a large herd of pachyderms running around. A group of locals were also seen running behind them as they screamed and shouted the whole time. The large mammals were constantly rumbling while running.
