An aggressive wild snake was caught hiding inside a family's toilet in Thailand.

The serpent was discovered by a resident as it slithered behind the bowl of the room in Phitsanulok province, on November 14.

A wildlife rescue team was called to remove the creature from the house but it tried to chase the volunteers away.

Footage shows the angry snake lunging multiple times at the animal rescuer who was holding the camera to film the interaction.

Snake wrangler Kesaraporn Boonkha said: ‘This snake was dangerous. The residents were right to call a professional instead of handling it on their own.'

Kesaraporn backed away as the snake attacked her until she found the chance to secure its neck and carry it out of the house.

The rescuer added: ‘This snake is a protected species so we must help conserve them.'

The snake was unharmed and taken back to the forest to be released in the wild.
