Footage filmed in Cianjur Regency, West Java Province, this afternoon ( November 21), shows the destruction caused by the quake and people's desperation.

A volunteer named Yudha Al Mufid, who assessed damages, reported that many buildings fell and several people were injured.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 rocked the western part of the Indonesian island of Java.

The strong tremors of the earthquake were felt all the way to the nation's capital, Jakarta.

Footage filmed in Cianjur Regency, West Java Province, this afternoon (21 November), shows the panic moments after the earthquake at a depth of 10 kilometers knocked down people's houses.

The volunteer who carried out the assessment after the earthquake, Yudha Al Mufid, reported that many buildings had fallen bodies and injured victims.

"Quake shook during lunch break," Mufid said.

Aftershocks with smaller magnitudes continued to occur several hours later.

Officers were called to evacuate the victims who were crushed by the rubble.
