A massive python climbed a tree incredibly quickly by wrapping its body around the trunk like a rope.

Tour guide Waroon Jinosaeng was leading a group through Khao Yai National Park, Thailand, when he came across a reticulated python showing off its skills.

Hypnotic footage captured the three-and-a-half metre long snake as it effortless glided up the body of the plant.

In just a matter of seconds the python scaled the 30-metre-tall tree with seemingly the smallest amount of strain.

Waroon said: “It is extremely rare to see them climbing up or down a tree.

“Usually you find them fast asleep on a branch. In the 17 years I’ve been a guide, I have never seen one moving like this.

“They are simply amazing. They make climbing look so easy. It’s almost hypnotic.”
