Cheeky, cute Willie Wagtails (Rhipidura leucophrys ) are one of Australia’s most loved birds. They build their exquisite nests with a combination of fine grass, animal hair and spiders’ web. This pair of Willie Wagtails nested in the lower branches of a Flooded Gum (Eucalyptus rudis) on the southern edge of Herdsman Lake, west of Perth city. They commuted to and from the lake, bringing non-biting midges (Chironomids) to feed their three blind chicks.
