Lion pride bite down on safari jeep only to steal tyre cover to play with
This is the scary moment a lion bit down on the back of a jeep only to steal the tyre cover so the pride could play with it.
Rosalind Liew was on safari in the Maasai Mara national reserve, Kenya, when a curious predator wandered over to the back of their Jeep Land Cruiser.
Nerve-wracking footage shows the lion pressed up close against the back window before it starts chewing on something just centimetres from the guests.
Eventually the big cat stole away with the tyre cover, carrying it around proudly in its mouth while the rest of the lions playfully tried to get it off him.
Rosalind said: “I was on holiday with my partner and three friends and we were all very shocked when we turned around and saw the lion’s eyes staring into our face.
“While we were engrossed in watching a group of three lions walk towards our vehicle, one of them decided to turn to the back and rip off the tyre cover.
“It took less than 15 seconds but gave the pride endless amounts of fun. Later on, our guide retrieved the tyre cover back.”
