An out-of-control truck veered into the opposite lane before crashing into a ditch.

Footage shows the lorry swerving along the curved mountain road before slamming into thick bushes in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, Thailand, on January 22.

Shocked motorists slowed down while the others completely stopped following the crash.

Ilada Burintarakot, who was in a car behind, said the driver survived the incident.

She said: 'We stopped by to see if we could help but many locals reached him before us. He had wounds on his head but was safely pulled out of his overturned truck.'

Police and paramedics arrived at the scene of the crash. The driver was pulled from the wreckage and taken to the hospital where his condition was stable.

Officers said they will question him in the coming days about the cause of the accident.
