CCTV captured the moment a strong earthquake shook a household appliances store in Turkey in the early hours of February 6.

Footage shows furniture and appliances rattling as the tremors struck the shop in Gaziantep, killing dozens of people across the region with many trapped under the rubble of the collapsed buildings.

The quake was recorded at a depth of 24.1 km, some 23 kilometers east of Nurdagi in the Gaziantep province of Turkey near Syria's northern border at 1.17 UTC, the United States Geological Survey said.

Aftershocks were also reported in central Turkey a few minutes after. Initial reports said at least 18 people in Turkey and 13 in Syria were killed due to the earthquake.

The agency said the tremors also jolted Cyprus, Jordan, Lebanon, the United Kingdom, Iraq, Georgia, and Armenia.
