This Egyptian fruit bat is given a warm bath by its human foster mother at The Israeli Bat Sanctuary.

Footage from February 7 shows Curly, the bat pup, being rinsed with warm water.

According to the filmer: "Baby bats need 24 hours a day of care. They are carried close to their foster mum's heart to constantly feel their heartbeat and to keep body heat, which they can't do on their own. They also need feeding every two hours and are nursed by foster moms, and must have help doing their business, since they can't do it by themselves.

"Curly the baby bat got very dirty while doing his business on himself, so his foster mother gave him a very relaxing bath. She uses warm water, no soap to avoid burns or damage to the skin, a cotton ball to remove the mess.

"Little curly loves his bath. You can hear him chirping away, that's his way of talking to his new foster mum.

"Once he is all cleaned, his foster mum uses a warm cloth to dry the little baby bat and keep him nice and cosy.

"Once Curly is old and strong enough he will be released back to nature to live free and wild like he is meant to."
