Wild honeybees built a massive nest inside a woman's bathroom while she was away on vacation.

Footage shows the swarm flocking on the irregularly-shaped 1ft-long wax shelter on the ceiling in Bangkok, Thailand on February 6.

The insects positioned their elaborate comb above just the shower hanging on the wooden structure and seemingly growing its size by extending to the beams.

House owner Pape Pornnapha said she went away for a three-day trip and the creatures have not yet taken over her home when she left.

She said: ‘I was excited to rest after travelling. I wanted to use the toilet but then I heard a strange buzzing above me.

‘When I looked up at the ceiling I saw the black thing. I couldn't believe it would be so big. I was only out of the house for three days.'

Pape added the bees didn't bite but she would ask for help relocating the nest.

She said: ‘It would be dangerous if I let them stay there. If I take a bath and don't have clothes, they could attack me.

‘I am contacting the animal services to help me remove the nest and put it in a new location.'
