Release of the Indonesian Basaranas Team to Help Search for Earthquake Victims in Turkey
Head of Basarnas Marsdya TNI Henri Alfiandi releases the Indonesian Search and Rescue (INASAR) team which will be deployed to Turkey at Basarnas Field Jl Angkasa Blok B. 15 Kav. 2-3 Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Friday (10/2/2023) around 14.00 WIB. There were 47 personnel involved, consisting of 42 members of Basarnas, 4 members of K-9 Polri, and 1 medical member from Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital. Kabasarnas advised all personnel to carry out their duties as well as possible. "You have been assigned to assist in SAR operations. I ask you to carry out this task with full dedication. Show all the abilities you have and protect the good name of the nation and country that we love," he stressed. The 47 personnel to be appointed have passed the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group or INSARAG External Classification (IEC) assessment as a medium class urban SAR team. This means that they are internationally certified and capable of providing assistance in the field of SAR in other countries that need Urban SAR (USAR) assistance. The INASAR team brought various urban SAR equipment such as extrication equipment, search cams, and the like. As is known, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 rocked the Pazarcik District of Kahramanras Province, Turkey on Monday (14/2/2023). The earthquake that occurred that night affected 10 provinces, namely Matalya, Hatay, Kahramanras, Adiyaman. Osmaniye, Diyarbakir, Sanliurfa, Gaziantep, Kilis and Adana. The earthquake resulted in tens of thousands of people died and tens of thousands were injured. The worst areas were in Adana, Gaza City and Kahramanras.
