A man accidentally fell into a manhole after attempting to fix its cover with his foot in northern China.

CCTV footage filmed in the city of Panjing in Liaoning Province on February 8 shows a man named Ding attempting to use his foot to restore a cover on a manhole that was not tightly closed.

However, the cover suddenly flipped over, causing Ding to fall into the manhole.

Ding said he was scared of moving his leg after falling into the manhole and his colleagues finally pulled him out.

Ding eventually managed to restore the manhole cover to its original position and he said he would still try to help if he encountered a similar situation in the future.
