Starving kitten rescued after being stuck in pipe for two days in Thailand
A starving kitten was rescued after being trapped inside a pipe for two grueling days in eastern Thailand.
The ginger moggie was being carried by its mum to the roof of a home in Chonburi province but fell down the PVC pipe during a storm.
A resident called volunteers on May 4 at 8 pm after hearing the moggie's cries from the four-inch pipe near a water storage tank. Worried the kitten might drown due to the rain, she notified the rescuers for help.
Upon arriving at the scene, the team was met with desperate meows echoing from the narrow pipe.
They squeezed a small camera into the confined space and confirmed the presence of the trapped cat covered in mud.
The rescuers set to work and drilled a square opening in the pipe to extract the feline.
It took approximately 30 minutes until they managed to grab the mewling kitten, which appeared exhausted after the ordeal.
The homeowner said that the mother cat had been carrying the hapless kitten in its mouth while climbing to the roof. Unfortunately, the cat's grip was too loose, and the kitten fell into the pipe.
The resident said: 'I will be taking care of this cat until someone decides to adopt it.'
The rescue team said they were glad the homeowner called them in time.
They also thanked her for sheltering the kitten as she searched for its forever home.
