A fire erupted at a fuel storage depot in Jakarta on March 3, killing 10 people.

Footage shows the station operated by Indonesia's state energy company Pertamina engulfed by a large blaze. The depot supplies around 20 per cent of the country's daily fuel needs.

According to reports, the fire started at around 8 pm local time.

Rahmat Kristanto confirmed the news of the fire when confirmed by CNNIndonesia.com. "That's right. There was a fire," he said. So far, the cause of the fire is unknown. Based on information in Pertamina's internal media, the Plumpang Fuel Oil Terminal is a strategic depot owned by Pertamina. The Plumpang depot supplies around 20% of daily fuel needs in Indonesia, or around 25% of the total need for Pertamina gas stations.
