Heavy ceiling panel crashes onto station platform barely missing passenger
This is the shocking moment a 25-lb ceiling panel crashed onto a train station platform and barely missed a passenger.
CCTV footage shows the soundproofing panel falling onto the southbound platform of Harvard Station along the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) line in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on March 1.
The object nearly struck rider Cianna Navarro, 21, who was returning home from running errands.
Following an inspection, the MBTA said the accident was caused by water corrosion. Ten ceiling panels have been removed at the Harvard station, while authorities also inspect the other stations.
